I absolutely love this photo of Portman. Some people argue that MA & MP's work isn't really photography and therefore isn't truely art, but I have to argue against that. Their imagery is some of the most beautiful I have seen. So what if it's digitally altered. This photo is eveidence that what they create is pure perfection.

Valentino Haute Couture Auturm/Winter 09.10

I am so inlove. So corporate Valentino fired the previous designer, whom I love, not only because she is an excellent designer, but because my guy, Tom Ford personally picked her to continue designing for Gucci after his own demise (and they should have kept here...look at the mess they've made of Gucci now), I didn't think Valentino would ever be the same. But surprisingly enough, I actually like what the new desginers have put out. Sure it is a little McQueen, 2006 (I believe), and maybe even a little Viktor & Rolf, back in , I want to say 2005-ish, but that's actually okay because those were brilliant collections. I feel like this was an extremely strong collection for Valentino, and they better not fire these two. I would love to see Theron in the dress above. She's such a swan.

So I absolutely need a pair of these Akiko Ogawa boots. Chanel Iman, above and below, rocks them amazingly. I have got to find out where I can get a pair. I'd first noticed them about a month or so ago at JAK & JIL (his photo below) and have been thinking about them ever since.

They are avant-garde and fashion forward, but not scary. If someone who didn't understand fashion were to see me, hopefully, walking around downtown Seattle, they wouldn't be like, OMG, one of those fashion types who are really just fashion disasters. Avant Garde, let's face it, can be a little scary to the average person. But with these boots, your covered.

I am really loving the look. She looks so young and fresh. Okay, so now I need to get back to studying for my mid-term. More later.

Chloe Handbags - Fall 2009

So I've decided that I am loving Chloe for Autumn 2009. Chloe bags are considered a wardrobe staple: They have so many bags that are both classic and chic. Chloe bags very rarely become dated. Even the Paddington is still considered current, in my opinion. If you were to see someone walking around downtown with a Paddington, you wouldn't be like, OMG, 2004 flashback. If she were rocking it right, you would just think, "wow, she is really chic".

So, with that theory in mind, and the economy being the way it is, I have decided to invest a Chloe, myself. I am hoping to get the dark brown Genna (above). So Chic.

If I were lucky, and could afford it, I would also buy the Paraty in Python, shown above as well. When Phoebie left Chloe, back in 2006, to spend more time with her new daughter, one had to wonder about the direction of the house. Thankfully, they have managed to stay strong with their accessories line, which is beneficial for everyone.

Ne-yo: Part of the List Music Video

These are a few screencaps from Ne-Yo's new video: Part of the List. I have always loved the song, as I think it's one of the most beautiful and sincere to come from an R&B artist in a while. After seeing the video, I am in complete love. Not only because it appears to be shot in my birth country, Germany, or somewhere near there, such as the Czech Republic or Serbia and Montenegro (I am dying to visit there as I think it is one of the worlds most naturally beautiful countries), but just because it is so pared down and I can truely relate to this one. The bridges in the background makes me think it's shot in Prague, which is even more of a bonus (so beautiful there). I am so jealous. But speaking of Giovanna, she has been looking absolutely amazing at all of the couture shows. I love her all over again. That sweater is absolutely something that I would wear.

Carine Chez Dior Haute Couture

Wow. This picture is everything French. I love it. It love her, for crying out loud. She is so effortless and so cool.

Dasha, Dasha, Dasha

I love Haute Couture season. It tends to bring out the best in terms of show attendence. The Pret-A-Porter shows have become so much of a specticle lately, with reality show personalities posing as stylistas. It's not about the show anymore, but who is in attendance in terms of celebrity. The amount of celebrities at a given show is not an indicator of the talent level of the designer.

Okay, I've started to go off on a bit of a tangent. But the point I was trying to make is the Haute Couture tends to attract truly stylish people, and it bring out the best in them. Dasha has been looking amazing this season. Above she attends the Chanel show, and below she attends the Givenchy show.

I Remember The Days: YSL Autumn/Winter 2002

This was the collection that started it all for me. I remember it was the end of September, and it was raining, common here in Seattle. I was at the store and had $5 extra, which was amazing because I didn't have much money at the time, and saw the September 2002 edition of Vogue on the stands near checkout. I bought it, and when I got home, I went into my tiny room and just started looking through it. After speeding through it a first time, I went through it again a second time more slowly. Toward the very front of the mag were these adverts for YSL. I remember seeing it, and just being like, wow. This is the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. No one designes like this anymore. To this day, Yves Saint Laurent is my favorite house. Tom Ford will forever be my favorite designer. J'adore.

La Belle Dame Sans Regrets

Indeed, I love Charlize Theron. How amazing would she be in Balmain, though? I should do a set like that next. I think I will. Anyway, this set kind of reminds me of an evening in Vienna, at a gallery opening or something equally chic. I swear, Charlize would look good in almost anything. Not fair.

Drew Barrymore for Missoni by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot

These ads made me LOVE Drew Barrymore as a muse. She had that Charlize/Penelope aura about her: you just wanted to see more and more of her in a fashion light. If I owned a design house or a magazine, I would definately be tempted to feature her in my ads or editorials more than a few times.

She is just so "woman" - fun, sophisticated, intellegent, independent. Love her.
