Still Loving This Girl

I am in love with Amber Rose fashion-wise. She is simply dope. Who else could rock a fur boa this way? This is classically chic hip-hop style done beautifully. I can wait to see what she wears next.

Fendi Vintage Leather Twins Tote

I have been in complete love with this bag for years now. Finally Fendi has decided to re-issue it (the bag on top), which is both a gift and a curse for me. I'm excited and at the same time I'm sad becauase there is no way in hell I am going to be able to afford the croc version, which is really the only version I would want. As you can see from the picture, the croc version is running for about 14K in Euros, which is roughly $19k. Not going to happen...for a very long time!

Oyster Magazine - Issue 81

Ooooooh! The current issue of Oyster Magazine features Maripol. So unexpected. In short, she is Madonna's stylist. In reality, she is a photographer, filmmaker, fashion designer/artist, among other things. Her Polaroids have been featured in gallery exhibits around the world. Truly an amazing talent.

I See Red

Kanye never ceases to amaze me. Suede gloves? Amazing. Maison Martin Margiela blazer in blood red? Amazing. Tom Ford Sunglasses? Extraodinary. How chic, exactly, can one person be? He truely loves fashion, and that comes through in everything that he does. He is just so fearless. Love...

Rachel Roy Pre-Fall 2009

Rachel Roy is definitely on my radar. Her clothes are so completely chic. These are clothes that you can wear through out the year, and in every city. Moscow, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Prague. I feel like that is the mark of a true designer. The collection has it's own unique look, but it still versatile enough to transcend all lines.

Louis Vuitton in Causeway Bay, HK

This is the Louis Vuitton in Causeway Bay. Really extraordinary architecture/design. This is a facet of fashion that really should not be overlooked, and very often it is. The innovation and creativity is amazing. I hate that people try to downplay the importance of fashion: The contributions that it makes to our culture is unlimited.

The Lion King on Broadway

My friend and I went to see this show when it came to Seattle...it was amazing. Now, potentially visiting New York in the next couple of months, I am excited to see another show: "Wicked". I have heard amazing reviews about the shpw, which is an adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz." It looks amazing. The tickets run for about $112 a pop, though, which is a little less amazing. It'll be worth it though. Maybe I can get some kind of discount.

Summer Wish List Item # 2 - LV Damier Graphite Keepall 55

Seeing as I will be travelling extensively throughout the remainder of the year, I have decided that an investment in a piece of Louis Vuitton luggage would be justifiable. Over the last couple of years, LV luggage has become almost unfashionable due to the high visibility it's received from certain celebrities. This piece from the Damier Men's line, however, is both elegant and classic at the same time. My only regret is that it's a menswear item, and I'm female. That, however, isn't enough to stop me. It's the price tag: $2,180.00. Still worth it though.

View From The Top

Hong Kong is very obviously my favorite city in the world right now. The entire city is state of the art by nature - accomodation, cuisine, shopping, everything. There isn't a detail that has been overlooked. Every fashion house worth mentioning has a flagship store there. The business opportunities are endless, the people - amazing. This is a city for the Über-Urbanista - instintively sophisticated and strikingly intellegent. When your in Hong Kong, your in the lap of luxury.

Charlize + Dior = L'amour

Charlize Theron attended the wedding of Salma Hayak in Venice, Italy, looking nothing short of breathtaking in typical Theron form. This woman does not have an off day. She is elegant, sophisticated and intelligent - she actually looks something like a chandelier in this picture. Amazing. (img: tfs)

Wang Get's Sophisticated

Alexander Wang is exploring a more slender, sophisticated silhouette this season. During his presentation for Fall 2009, it seems that the designer abondoned all traces of the baggy jeans and oversized blazers he has been known for. Being that this is the designers' fourth collection to show during New York Fashion Week, Wang is most likely looking to showcase his range as a design talent. As much as I have loved his previous collections, this is definately a welcome and unexpected change. Those boots are going to be a must have.

Mission Impossible

So, a friend and I are trying to score tickets to NY Fashion Week this autumn, which is pretty close to impossible. I, however, will not be deterred.

The Givenchy Nightingale

Every girl should have one of these. Classic with a modern twist.

Paris, France

An interesting picture of paris.
Pictures like this is what takes me back and makes me want to be a filmmaker again. Travel the world, filming and photographing as I go. Little moments like this illustrates the beauty of what life is. Photography and Filmmaking helps us capture the moments that would otherwise be ignored. I am in love.

ELLE (US) October 2003

This is one of my favorite editorials of all time. It's called Couture Now and features Maja Latinovic. I love everything - I still want that Versace dress - so sexy. I don't know if anyone remembers, but Beyonce wore this dress to the 2003 MTV VMA's. I didn't like the way she wore it, but oh well. This was so timeless - I feel like if I went and picked up the newest issue of ELLE, which comes out next week, actually, and saw this editorial in it, I would still feel like it's as fresh now as it was then. I need all of this in my closet immediately. This makes me want to go back through all my magazines from back then and look through each and everyone of them.
That Givenchy gown is to die for. It literally breaks your heart. That collection is actually the reason I love Givenchy to this day.

Kate Lanphere - Style Director, US ELLE

So I have been a fan of Kate's for a while - she has the most amazing style. It's almost Parisian goth - it's definately not American. But I really love the way she puts it all together.
I really wish, however, she would infuse some life into US ELLE. My first issue of ELLE was from October of 2002 - I bought every issue between then and about June of 2008. I feel like it's just gotten so bad. It's going through an identity crisis. Before (in the good ol days, lol) it was all about women - in every sense of the word. It was about being sophisticated, intellegent, well-heeled and well-traveled. There was a sensuality to it, that I have yet to see in another magazine. That was the ELLE I loved. That is the ELLE I miss.
