Coldplay

I'd totally forgotten the genius of this band. I used to LOVE them. After listening to Politik, a song from their third album, X & Y, I realized how much I still do. Chris Martin is brilliant - his vocals are so haunting, so remarkable. Then I went back even further and listened to "In My Place" - it's amazing how a single lyric can take you back to the place you used to be - to the person you were. I truely love this band. Please, if you haven't heard any of their music, check them out. It will be an expierence that changes you.

Victory Harbor, Hong Kong, China

I know I say this all the time, but I truely love Hong Kong. The second I graduate from UW (University of Washington) I'm gone. It is just the most spectacular city, in my opinion. What other city has a skyline like this one? There is just so much culture and influence and style - not just style as in the way you look, but in your attitude, your way of thinking. It's very directional and sophisticated and intellectual. I love it.

White Heat - Amber Rose

Kanye West and Amber Rose attend the BET Awards 6.28.09 and they officially shut it down. I have to say, for the record, how happy I am that she has come onto the scene. I love how fearless she is. They look amazing together.

I Like London In The Rain

I like London, in the rain. With my Boots on in the rain.
Feel the coolness in the air. Let the rain fall in my hair.
Wish I were in Londontown right now.

Classic Olivia

The classic black blazer is still the best night time look by far, in my opinion. Sophisticated. You can never have too many. Helmut Lang, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Zara. You can't go wrong. It's just chic. Chic, Chic, Chic!

Michael Jackson - Always and Forever

There are no words - what an immeasurable loss.

What hurts the most is the fact that he went through so much, unnecessarily, over the course of his life. So much criticism and hurt.

His death serves as a reminder that no one lives forever. We need to reexamine the way we treat and take care of each other. At the end of the day, it's all we have.

Rest in Peace Michael.

Dolce & Gabbana - Spring/Summer 2008

There is one thing you have to give the boys at Dolce & Gabbana credit for: whenever Dominico and Stefano are designing a collection, they give it everything that they have. I love them for that. Regardless of whether or not the collections are strong, the collections are always completely focused, which is something I can respect. Designers sometimes want to go in so many different directions and the result is that the collection presents itself as blurred. With Dolce & Gabbana, they come up with an idea, research it, and stick to it to the end. And the result is often mesmerizing.
This is one of my many favorite collections by these two, primarily for the dresses at the end. the dress Natasha Poly wears is also worn by Gwen Stefani in one of my favorite video's ever - Early Winter.

La Perla Beachwear

La Perla always has the best imagery. I wish they would put a little of what they put into their lingerie and swimwear into their pret-a-porter, because it is lacking.

Elegy - Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz

This is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. I advise everyone to see it. It made me fall in love with filmmaking again. Ben and Penelope are brilliant in this film - absolutely. The movie is actually based on a book by one of my favorite writers: Phillip Roth - "The Dying Animal". After I finished the movie I immediately went to Borders Books and bought "The Human Stain", another of his books. Really, if you love literary art, which I do, buy one of his books and read it. You will not be dissipointed. His work is utterly inspiring - it made me want to pick up the pen again, something I haven't done in at least a year or so.

Acropolis Museum - Athens, Greece

The Acropolis Museum, designed by Fraco - Swiss Architect Bernard Tschumi, is set to open tonight in Athens. The museum features more than 350 artifacts and sculptures formally housed in a small space of the (actual) acropolis. I couldn't be more impressed with the final product - if I were rich I would totally be there tonight. I truly feel like Athens is one of those cities that are on the verge of something amazing. They have so much of everything there - amazing history, the best food, boys....lol, so much culture.
Nothing get my attention the way art does. It makes my heart race, no joke. I find it so completely consuming. And there's nothing more extraordinary than when art and architecture merge. It's just amazing. I need to be in Athens, soon.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

This is best news. The shoes look amazing thus far. I cannot wait.

Kim Kardashian in Nice, France

Tres chic, non? There is just something about the French, c'est le "je ne sais quoi", and it has apparently rubbed off on Kim. She actually looks fashion forward for once - like she can actually pronounce the names of the designers she's wearing. I'm sorry but if you can't pronounce the name of the design house that you're wearing, such as Givenchy or Guy Laroche, then you probably shouldn't be wearing it. These clothes look like they actually belong on her, which is not usually the case. The key is to not look "American", and please no one take offense to that. I mean "American" in the stereotypical way. Let's be honest: Kim is STUNNING, but her style is not exactly effortless. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Plus, she is carrying a bag from Lanvin - so she is officially on my good side.

Fendi Casa

I need to state for the record how much I love Fendi Casa. I love their asthetic - very clean and luxurious. I also love how detailed their pieces are.

I Have To Make An Announcement

Hello everyone. I just need to take the time to make an extraordinary announcement: My cuzo, mi prima, just gave birth to her first child, A. Milan, this morning in California. ALL NATURAL! I am so completely happy I don't know what to do with myself. A. is the first child to be born from any of us (the kids - although we're not exactly kids anymore, lol) so this is a huge deal. I just want to get in my car and drive down from Seattle to meet the little one. This is truely what life is about - celebrating life, each other and the little gifts we receive along the way. Love you, E. Truly.

My Future Home - Park Hyatt, Seoul, South Korea

Ideally this "apartment" would be located in Hong Kong, but Seoul is an extraordinary city as well. I love modern architecture - clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows, fabulous city - what more could you ask for?

Dolce & Gabbana - The Make-Up Collection

Uber Designers, Dolce & Gabbana, have finally decided to launch a make-up collection! The collection, which draws it's inspiration from both "Hollywood Glamour" and "Dreamy Mediterranean Coastlines", is truly exhibition of luxury, or "La Dolce Vita", the good life. The product, which continues in the vain of the Gabbana perfume "The One" in terms of packaging, features Scarlett Johannson as a modern day Marilyn Monroe. The lipstick alone excites me - the texture looks incredible. What's even more exciting is that the website features application tips by none other than Pat McGrath, artist extraordinaire.
One of the things I love the most, aside from the packaging, is that no one is forgotten. A lot of the time, I feel, designers forget or fail to realize that there are more than a few shades of women who purchase their products. This is a collection for everyone. There are pallets for fair skinned women as well as women of color. This fact highlights one of the main reasons why Dominico and Stefano are loved by women all around the globe - it's the fact that we know they love us right back.

(dolcegabbana.com)

I cannot believe how completely chic Rachel Roy's clothes are. Even more surprising is that it all comes from the (ex) wife of a hip-hop mogul - which is partly to blame for her lack of recognition. For someone who is fairly new by designer standards, her clothes are remarkably finished. They are American but with a Parisanne flair - her latest resort collection featured chicest trench coat I've seen outside of Burberry. The trousers are just long enough, the dresses just chic enough...it's time Ms. Roy received some much deserved recognition from the fashion world.

Behind the Scenes - Must Be Love

So as I've stated before, I love anything that has to do with the "making of" something. I think it's nice to see the development of a project and all the things that go into the finishing. It's also nice to hear Cass speak - she seems really genuwine.

Victoria Beckham in Antonio Berardi

I saw this and my mouth literally hit the floor. I am floored. I would totally wear this! Most of the time I see celebs, and I totally love what they're wearing, but I wouldn't necessarily go out and buy it. But Vic! You have out done yourself, officially. There was literally a :30 second window between my seeing this set of photographs and posting them. It is that serious!

In Focus - Fabiola Beracasa

Oh la la...Fabiola! I love the sense of "quirk" that she infuses into everything. Here she is at the opening of the Marni boutique in uptown NYC. Everything looks so effortless and well put together, and yet you can still see her personality shining through.

Epoch of Innocence - Masha Novoselova

Masha is one of the newer models on the scene, and I have found myself really admiring her work lately. She reminds me alot of Eva Herzagova...simply stunning.
