This is the most beautiful song I've heard in an eternity: Lovely.
Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye
Even with our fists held high
It never would have worked out right, yeah
We were never meant for do or die...
I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone
Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you'll find another
That doesn't always make you wanna cry
It started with the perfect kiss then
We could feel the poison set in
"Perfect" couldn't keep this love alive
You know that I love you so
I love you enough to let you go
I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone
Exactly how I feel. Inspiring.

Fall Must Have Item #3: Helmut Lang Shearling Vest
Okay so I need this now. Helmut Lang is one of my top 10 favorite designers. Even though Lang himself no longer designs for the label (so sad to have your own name stolen from you) I still love the pieces they turn out each season. This vest is ultra-lux, and retails for around $1795...and is worth each and every penny. I would totally buy this if I just had that laying around somewhere.

Looks Like My Girl Is BACK!
I absolutely love Jennifer Lo. She is just so completely inspiring. When I'm sketching, it's women like her who are in my mind. She's exotic in the way that she isn't your standard hollywood siren - she's Latina, like myself, and couldn't be more proud of that fact. But more importantly, she lives her life in such a fearless, take no prisoners type of way, and that translates into her style as well. I think that's the thing I love the most. I definately think it's safe to say that Jennifer Lopez is BACK!

Fall Must Have Item #2: Kain Tank Tops
To many of us, KAIN Label tank tops are nothing new. They are kind of a wardrobe staple at this point because they're super-luxe and go with everything. They come in almost every color imaginable (usually) and aren't SUPER high priced like some of it's counterparts. They retail for around $90, which isn't too bad when you consider what your getting. Over the weekend I was in Los Angeles (the city of angels, which is true, because I was there, lol) and I saw this stunning Eastern European girl in an electric blue one. She looked amaing. She was also rocking a tan Balenciaga tote as well...lucky. But seeing her just reaffirmes that KAIN tanks are king and everyone should have one.

ELLE: March 2003: Adriana Lima
Lima fever. So this was another "browsing through my mag collection" moment. Seriously, though. Why doesn't ELLE look like this anymore? This editorial made me love Adriana Lima. I thought she was amazing. This period was still close enough to the beginning of her career, when she was still tolerable, personality wise. I still love the purple eye make-up in the first photo. Giles is a genius.
ELLE: September 2009: Jennifer Aniston
Vogue Germany: Dress to Thrill: Anja Rubik:
How amazing is this editorial? I just can't get enough. I should be a stylist. I would put Halle in the first dress (as I stated in a previous post), Neomie Lenoir in the second dress, and Charlize in the third. Amber Rose, I think, would actually be able to pull off any one of these...I am currently super obsessed with her. I love that you can expect her to show up in any and everything. I love her. But back to the topic. Anja is the most amazing model. She can make a flannel come to life. Love her, as well.

Have A Little Compassion: Polar Bear Conservation
Part of being chic is also being compassionate. One of the things that I am most passionate about is the protection and conservation of our natural world. You can buy the most blinged out Hermes Birkin, or have a closet stocked full of Manolo’s, but natural beauty one of the few things that can’t be replicated. You can’t manufacture the Amazon, or the Alps. Our natural world is one of the greatest gifts we have, and even if you are not directly inspired by it, there are many people who are. John Galliano and Marc Jacobs for instance, are known fashion designers (Galliano for Christian Dior, and Jacobs for Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton) who are inspired by the beauty they encounter while travelling. Sometimes we are so consumed with getting the material things, we lose sight of what’s important. While we take, we must also remember to give back. Let’s all do our part to preserve our world. We only have one. Earth.

Vogue Paris: Larmes Fatales: Karolina Kurkova by P. Demarchelier
This photo is from an editorial in the May 2004 edition of French Vogue. There's nothing like re-discovering an incredible editorial. If your like me, whenever you see an editorial that you love, it stops you dead in your tracks. You can't stop looking at it. Depending on my mood, I always have some vintage magazine open to an editorial that I find inspiring. Last week it was an editorial from the December 1994/January 1995 Vogue Paris (yeah, my magazine collection goes way back...). But this is what I love, right now.

Les Diamants Sont Morts: J'adore Dior, Toujours.
Charlize is my ultimate muse. Whenever I am sketching a collection, or even just an evening gown, it is her that's in my mind. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks or to be who she is. I love her for that.
Caramel...
So I know I'm in the minority here, but I love Kim's new hair color. It's temporary, I'm sure, but I actually think she might have up-graded. The looks stunning...as usual. For whatever reason, I suddenly found myself liking her more, after seeing this. She usually annoying and pretentious and narcissistic, but right now...I find her lovely.
Another Again...
Last night, it finally felt like Seattle again. We've been having some amazing weather lately. I'm not complaining about that. But lately, I have been feeling a little anxious to get back to the Seattle I know - rainy, rainy, rainy. It poured, yesterday evening, actually, I guess making up for lost time. Perfect weather for grabbing a cup of Starbucks, or Tully's, or whatever your poison may be, curling up with your favorite book, or laptop, as in my case, and just letting the time pass.
Dresco, my brother and constant travel companion, (thanks And) took this one while I drove. It was amazing. The is the Narrow's Bridge, which connects Gig Harbor and Tacoma, and you could see fog hovering above the water, near the cliffs on both sides. Wish he could have gotten shots of that as well, but we were going about 60mph...not really cruising speed.

Fall Wish List Item #1: Ivory Vuitton Epi Leather Speedy - 30
I am proud to say that in alot of ways, I admire my mom. She is classiest woman I have ever met. She radiates pure Honduran elegance. She has the most beautiful pale skin and ultra black hair which she has worn in a continuous chignon for the entirety of my life. I say that to say this: my mom has one designer item. A handbag, no less. A Louis Vuitton Canvas leather Speedy 30, which my dad bought her back when I was a kid, running around Monterey Beach. Love. So it should come as no surprise that I have recently discovered a craving for a speedy myself. The Epi Leather Speedy in Ivory. It’s just perfect. You just throw your blackberry and your passport in there and you’re ready for anything. I never thought I would want a Vuitton, because they are so completely over exposed, but the Epi is just low key enough. Those who need to know, know. Understated elegance at its best.
Anything Tom Ford, I Love
I love Tom Ford. I just do. There is no denying this fact. I am in love with him. He is amazing. I can't get enough. I love everything he's ever done for Gucci and YSL. I even love what he did for Lauder (he tried, anyway. Estee Lauder has the best products - I use them religiously. It might be a Honduran thing. But they need to fire whomever their creative/art director is). His work is always so appropriately inappropriate. It's perfection. These images are from Fall/Winter 2008, but I still love them. This is what I am currently inspired by. Everything is just so clean and perfect. Plus, Lilianna looks absolutely hottt!

Perfect Saturday Night Look
So first I have to apologize for not updating in a while. I have been swamped with studying for my up-coming finals - I keep telling myself that the hell I am putting myself through is going to be worth it in the long run, but man, it seems like I have absolutely no time for anything else! Summer quarter ends next thursday - and I will be back with plenty of topics I've been meaning to blog about.
